The College of Sciences, one of the oldest colleges of CAUC, has 3
undergraduate programs: information and computing science, material
chemistry and material physics, and recruits 160 students each year.
Since 2003 it has been authorized to begin master’s degree education in
computational mathematics, which is a breakthrough in its education
patterns.
The college boasts its highly qualified teachers. It has a
staff of 47, including five professors, 29 associate professors, four
doctoral degree holders. In the past five years the teachers in the
college have published 70 articles in core academic journals at home and
abroad, compiled 10 textbooks, finished 1 research project of National
Natural Science Funds, 15 scientific projects of Civil Aviation
Administration of China, and 24 teaching projects.
Labs under it are: Engineering Chemistry Lab, Inorganic
Chemistry Lab, Organic Chemistry Lab, Physical Chemistry Lab, and Atomic
Spectrum Lab. In addition, Modern Physics Lab and Material Science Lab
will soon be under construction.
With emphasis on wide knowledge, and strong competence,
College of Sciences aims to train well-qualified graduates to meet the
changing social demands.
