Qiaobutang's "Special Training on Designing Resume" in CAUC
At 18:30 in the afternoon on April 15, 2016, our school held a special lecture on "Special Training on Designing Resume" in Classroom 201. Under the severe employment situation in the present society, all major job openings feature an imbalance between supply and demand, which makes the importance of resumes self-evident. It is the first exchange between the job-seeker and the employer, and it serves as a job-seeking intention. It carries the personal experience of the job seeker, highlights the personality of the job seeker, and expresses his or her determination to seek employment. How can I make my resume stand out from the crowd?
To guide our students to write an excellent and competitive resume, we are honored to invite Ms. Liu Xueying, the Commercial Director and Distinguished Lecturer of Shanghai Qiaobutang Information Technology Co. , Ltd. who also have served in the organizing committee and the judge in the first and second national college student resume contest. She has been invited to guide the design of resumes and give special training lectures at Tsinghua University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, Ocean University of China, and Central University for Nationalities.
Sticking to the theme of "Special Training on Designing Resume", the keynote speaker adopted a humorous but concise style to introduce the designing of resume with the following aspects: personal information, job intentions, educational experience, and experiences related to education, personal competency (such as language and computer skills), specialty and hobbies, etc., with analysis and comprehensive explanation occasionally. This lecture aims to provide all students with professional and practical resume writing techniques in terms of templates, resume production and resume revision.
For example, the keynote speaker proposed in her speech that if you want to take a photo for job-seeking, you must have a sense of profession. Don't block facial features by hair. The hair shall be clean and smooth. For girls, light makeup is more appropriate (but poor makeup techniques are counterproductive); Smile should be as naturally as possible: not only on the lips, but also in the eyes. In addition, her explanation of the personal experience part in the resume is also impressive: in terms of content, it is necessary to be targeted at the intended job position, and meet the following standards for wording: specific (such as listing numbers) but not too complicated, the description of relevant experiences shall be organized, and also the narration shall adopt a verb-object structure.
During this 100-minute speech, the students showed great interest and listened to the lecture with an earnest attitude. Through this lecture, the students achieved a clearer understanding of how to create a high-level, professional, and refined resume that will make recruiters more attractive. Mrs. Liu Xueying said: “A good resume is not created by writing, but completed with your experience.”Just as what she said, a really good resume requires the efforts of the whole university life.
