An improved energy efficient cluster construction algorithm for aeronautical Ad Hoc network

Abstract:

Aeronautical Ad Hoc network (AANET)is the application of Ad Hoc network in the field of aviation communication. AANET uses dynamic networking technologies to construct the network topology. Using appropriate clustering algorithm to make aircrafts into groups is an effective way to reduce the latency in data transmission. And it can prolong the network lifetime of AANET. This paper makes improvement to a delayaware cluster construction algorithm,DACC. We add averaging energy consumption strategy in the cluster head selection and propose an improved algorithm,DACC-EE,to prolong the network lifetime. Simulation results show that DACC-EE doesn't change the delay efficient features of DACC,and the performance of network lifetime of DACC-EE is much better than DACC and LEACH.
