Prediction of wake turbulence separation reduction effect based on RECAT-EU

Abstract: RECAT-EU is proposed by EUROCONTROL as a wake turbulence separation standard. In order to analyze the implementation effect of RECAT-EU, firstly, the background of which is studied, then the corresponding mode are established and the expected capacity increase calculation software is developed by Matlab. Take Guangzhou Baiyun International airport as an example, the capacity increasing effect in different time periods and for different types of aircrafts is analyzed by using this software. Results show that the RECAT-EU wake turbulence separation standard can increase the capacity by about 6%
