Contour measuring and cutting method for high-voltage cable joints

Abstract: A new measuring and cutting method is proposed aiming at the problem of high surface roughness and low profile consistency in high-voltage cable processing. Firstly, the error model of installation parameters is established袁 the joint contour is scanned by laser displacement sensor, and the cross-section contour is fitted by least square method. The contour fitting error is less than 0.12% , making it possible to reconstruct the contour and axis trajectory of joints with high precision. Then the tool feeding is obtained and the discrete feeding is smoothed by using interpolation algorithm, which can effectively solve the contradiction between control system bandwidth and cutting surface roughness. By designing this new cutting machine, the contour measuring and cutting method of high-voltage cable joints is verified, proving that this method is reliable and effective and can meet the technical requirements of high-voltage cable joint forming.
