The design and realization of ADS-B receiver monitoring and testing software

Abstract: To realize the performance test of the automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) receiver, the monitoring and testing software of the ADS-B receiver is developed and designed. Through the user datagram protocol(UDP) port, ADS-B messages are received from the receiver. Multi-threading technology is used to receive and decode ADS-B data at high speed in real time. Memory initialization file (MIF) map data files and Google Earth are used for track display and flight information visualization. With the setting of the software system, the performance of the ADS-B receiver is tested and the signal source is verified. The test results show that the ADS-B receiver monitoring software has a friendly man-machine interface and is easy to operate, which can better realize the testing of the receiver.
