Abstract: Due to the influence of external environment and human factors, the airport cement concrete pavement panels will encounter early diseases such as surface cracking after 5 to 7 years of use and accelerate the development of other diseases, which makes its service life far less than the designed 20 to 30 years. In order to solve the problem of cracking on the surface of the pavement panel, a composite pavement with engineered cementitions composite (ECC) material on the top and ordinary concrete on the bottom is designed, while the economic factor is also considered. The ABAQUS software is used to simulate the mechanical properties of the composite pavement panel loaded by the aircraft wheel load and the service life is analyzed. The results show that with the increase of the thickness of ECC layer, the deflection of the pavement panel will slightly increase. The service life of the pavement panel will significantly increase because of the excellent tensile and flexural properties of ECC. When the thickness of ECC layer increases from 100 mm to 200 mm, the fatigue life of the pavement is increased by about 5.2 times.
