Abstract: Geometric configuration of orthogonal huge cylindrical reticulated hangar shell is analyzed, numerical relationship between geometric parameters is deduced, and the modeling method of this structure is proposed. Modeling program is designed, given parameters such as span, length, height and mesh number, then a geometric model of orthogonal huge cylindrical reticulated hangar shell structure is generated. Compared with orthogonal square pyramid double-layer cylindrical reticulated shell and diagonal square pyramid double-layer cylindrical reticulated shell, maximum stress, maximum deflection and steel consumption per unit area are calculated. Results show that the orthogonal huge cylindrical reticulated hangar shell has structure with clear priorities, reasonable stress and specific transmission route. On the basis of ensuring strength and rigidity, material consumption and weight of the structure are reduced. Besides, greater span of hangar structure can be realized. The current study provides reference for theoretical research and engineering design of hangar roof structure.
