Abstract: Subjective data about bad working states of 458 controllers are collected through questionnaire, surveying bad working states, especially two typical bad states such as fatigue and nervousness in details. Considering different control factors, the distribution of bad states and the effect of fatigue and nervousness on controlling ability are analyzed. Results show that various bad states exist in control process and are related with control factors especially under high air traffic flow. Occurrence of fatigue and nervousness is significantly affected by three control factors such as working age, control type and traffic flow as well as different control scenarios. Control ability are impaired by the two bad states in various aspects and related with the three control factors as well. The impairment of fatigue on control ability is most obviously affected by traffic flow, and the impairment of nervousness on control ability is most obviously affected by working age.
