College of Aeronautical Engineering
College of Aeronautical Engineering dates back to 1951 with the foundation of CAUC. Over the past decades, thousands of students have graduated from this college, so it is called “cradle for civil aviation engineers”.
College of Aeronautical Engineering consists of three departments: Aircraft Propulsion Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering. It has more than ten laboratories and research centers, including Laboratory of Virtual Maintenance, Laboratory of Fluid Mechanics, Laboratory of Hydraulics, Laboratory of Aircraft Structure Strength, Laboratory of Composites Repair, Laboratory of Engine Vibration, Laboratory of Thermal Mechanics, Aircraft Maintenance Training Center and Aircraft Maintenance Research Center, etc..
College of Aeronautical Engineering offers both bachelor and master degrees. The bachelor degree programs include Flight Vehicle Propulsion Engineering, Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Engineering. The master degree programs include Aerospace Propulsion Theory, Aircraft Design, Human-Machine & Environment Engineering and Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering. There are also two professional master programs in the college, that is, master of Engineering Degree Program and Sino-French Cooperative Education Program on Aviation Safety Management.
There are 83 staff members in the college, including 11 professors, 14 associate professors, and other lecturers.
What’s more, the college is actively promoting academic cooperation and exchanges with other universities and organizations all over the world. Each year over 10 faculty members go abroad to attend various academic activities.
The College of Aeronautical Engineering is doing its best to offer students first-class education and carry out leading-edge scientific research on various aspects of Aeronautical Engineering. We sincerely encourage young generations to join us and devote themselves to the development of Aeronautical Engineering and make great contributions to the progress of civil aviation industry.
Undergraduate Programs
During the early years of CAUC, its main goal was to train "ground service" personnel, and the "ground service program" (the predecessor of Flight Vehicle Propulsion Engineering) was set up at that time. It marks the start of the history of training aviation maintenance technicians in China. The Flight Vehicle Propulsion Engineering program trains technicians and management personnel who will engage in aero-engine maintenance and engineering management in the future. Graduates are competent for jobs in such areas as aero engine condition monitoring, fault diagnosis, maintenance and repair, operation management, experimental testing, design and manufacturing, and airworthiness.
The Flight Vehicle Propulsion Engineering program enrolls more than 300 domestic and foreign students every year.
Core courses:
Electronics (II)
Basic Theory of Machines and Mechanisms
Engineering Thermodynamics(II)
Gas Dynamics
Aviation Engine Construction
Aviation Engine Control
Aviation Engine Principe
Aviation Maintenance Engineering Management
Engine condition monitoring and fault diagnosis
Aviation Engine Strength and Vibration
The program of Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering originated from the Ground Service program that was set up during the early years of CAUC. Characterized by civil aircraft maintenance and life-cycle remanufacturing, the program aims to train students to meet the development needs of the future international civil aviation industry. The students are equipped with a solid foundation in mathematics, physics and mechanics, as well as systematic basic knowledge of aviation maintenance. They also fully master the theory and technology of aircraft structure and system maintenance, engineering management and aircraft airworthiness. The students are also good team players who have strong engineering practical ability and good international communication ability and who are capable of working in relevant technical fields such as aircraft maintenance, life-cycle remanufacturing, operation monitoring, fault diagnosis and maintenance management. The students with innovative spirit will serve as application-oriented advanced engineering personnel in aircraft maintenance.
Aircraft manufacturing engineering program enrolls about 300 domestic and foreign students every year.

Industrial Engineering
This program focuses on aviation maintenance engineering in order to meet the development need of domestic and international civil aviation. Graduates will gain solid theoretical basis and professional knowledge on aircraft and engine, learn professional knowledge systematically on line maintenance, aircraft schedule check and workshop maintenance, and master solid theoretical basis on aviation maintenance and systematic professional knowledge on aviation engine. Graduates will get familiar with a variety of maintenance manuals and relevant laws and regulations, and have strong practical ability and some aircraft maintenance skills. In addition, students will master basic theories and methods of Industrial Engineering and advanced technology to solve practical engineering problems, achieve optimization of production management and production scheduling with the engineering methods, and become senior technical and management talents with good English skills in the field of aviation maintenance and maintenance management. Graduates will be awarded a bachelor's degree of Engineering. Graduates can conduct aircraft maintenance and engineering management work in civil aviation companies, and they can become industrial engineers, systems engineers and managers in the field of manufacturing, maintenance and service enterprises. They can also continue to pursue a master's degree in related area.
