Abstract:

Based on the analysis of accidents and incidents related to cabin environment,a typical failure condition resulting in the most hazardous accidents is chosen. Firstly, failure classification and safety objective of the failure condition are concluded by Functional Hazard Assessment. Preliminary system safety analysis is conducted consequently. Fault tree basing on such top events is established. Furthermore, key factors impacting the occurrence of failure condition are determined based on importance and sensitivity analysis. The research conclusion wonld not only provide basis for environmental control system design and improvement of system reliability, but also help the aircraft maintenance personnel locate fault sources quickly and increase maintenance efficiency.

Key words: cabin environment, pressure control system, functional hazard assessment, preliminary system safety assessment, fault tree, latent failure
