Abstract: EAT setting is an important approach to improve the airport flight zone safety, runway capacity and taxiing efficiency. Based on the gate pre-assignment result, airport operation with EAT is analyzed and refined to each gate. Firstly, the conditions and operational rules of EAT setting in narrow parallel runway at PVG is investigated. And then, Flexsim is used to simulate the aircraft taxiing time and the narrow parallel runway capacity during peak hours with and without EAT respectively. Results show that the EAT utilization rate is 21.7% and the average taxiing time has been reduced from 8.11 min to 7.81 min. The narrow parallel runway capacity has been increased from 47.59 racks/h to 51.11 racks/h in the mode of ’Taking-off inside and landing outside‘and the increasing rate is 7.40%.
