Trend and strategy of college teachers'capacity development based on
establishment of National Teacher and Teaching Development Center

Abstract:

As a key factor of higher education quality,teaching capacity development has become an important measure to enhance college competitiveness. Researches and practices abroad on college teacher development have been comparatively mature and have formed a perfect system. However,related studies in China seem slightly weaker.Recently,this subject has aroused attention from all walks of lives;in July 2012,the Ministry of Education approved 30 'Twelfth Five Year'National Teacher and Teaching Development Demonstration Centers, showing the government's deeply concern about this subject. By comparing related researches and practices in and abroad,corresponding strategies are put forward about the following aspects:spontaneity and sense of identity of teachers,establishment of teaching capacity developing institutions and the function of such institutions.
