Mr. Dong Jiankang, president of CAUC welcomed the ERAU delegation in the No. 1 meeting room in the administrative building. Representatives from CAUC’s College of Aeronautical Engineering, College of Electronic Information and Automation, College of Economics and Management, College of Flight technology, Department and Academic Affairs, Department of Flight Training Management and Department of International Affairs also attended the meeting.
The two parties reviewed the cooperation achievements until now and exchanged the current development of each university.
President Dong Jiankang mentioned that the continuous cooperation between the two parties is attributed to mutual trust. The rapid development of China civil aviation requires CAUC to improve its student cultivation and training quality and attach great importance to innovation, in order to better serve the civil aviation industry. The “3+1+1” students exchange program between CAUC and ERAU provides a good platform for CAUC to cultivate students with solid professional background and international vision.
Dr. Tim Brady pointed out that “3+1+1” students exchange program is a win-win cooperation, which has laid an important foundation for the two parties to explore cooperation on other aspects. Some CAUC faculties have been to EARU as visiting scholars, which can promote the teaching and research exchanges between the two universities.
The two parties agreed to strengthen cooperation on other fields of aviation such as meteorology, human factors, pilot training, etc.. They also discussed the possibility to jointly host an annual international conference on aviation safety management system.
After the meeting, the two parties signed a new MOU to further their cooperation on the “3+1+1” students exchange program and exchange of faculties, in order to promote cooperation on teaching and scientific research.

An undergraduate student in the “3+1+1” program should spend first three years at CAUC, and fourth and fifth years at ERAU. The student will receive a BS degree from CAUC during or at the end of year four after meeting all BS degree requirements as determined by CAUC. The student will receive an MS degree from ERAU after meeting all requirements as determined by ERAU.
