The 17th China University Basketball Association (CUBA) Northeast Games was held in Civil Aviation University of China from April 9th to 16th. Basketball teams from universities in Beijing, Tianjin. Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Hebei, Shandong and Hong Kong have participated in the Northeast Games, including 16 men basketball teams and 12 women basketball teams.
On April 16th, the final of the CUBA Northeast Games was held at CAUC stadium between men basketball teams from CAUC and Qinghua University. The two teams were fighting for the “Basketball King of the Northeast China”. During the game, CAUC men basketball team had always been in the leading position and finally beat Qinghua University 80:74. Thus CAUC men baskeball team claimed the championship of the CUBA Northeast with seven consecutive victories during the Northeast Games.
The coach of CAUC men basketball team Mr. Zheng Jun and coach of Qinghua University Mr. Wang Deli won the title of “Best coaches” and CAUC No. 9 basketball player Sun Ruifeng was entitled as MVP.
