During the 2018 China Air Show, on November 7th, CAUC signed an MoU of electric taxiing innovative program with Safran Landing System and ENAC. Mr. Jean-Paul Alary, the CEO of Safran Landing System and Mr. Bai Jie, Vice President of CAUC signed the MoU on behalf of the two parties.
According to the MoU, CAUC, ENAC and Safran Landing System Company will simulate taxiing operations at predefined international airports. They will share their methods and analyses so that Safran Landing Systems can offer the solution that best matches different airport regulations and environments. The signature of the MoU indicates a new step of university-industry cooperation and a new area of international cooperation.
Mr. Jing Yihong, Secretary General of CAUC expressed his sincere thanks to all the guests present, and his best wishes to a new journey of cooperation among the three parties. He believed that the signature of MoU for the Electric Taxiing Innovative Program will further promote the CAUC’s development on talent cultivation and scientific research.
Mr. Jean-Paul Alary said, “as it becomes increasingly urgent to address global warming, it is our responsibility to develop greener and more environmentally-friendly solutions. The transport sector is currently undergoing a green revolution, and electric taxiing is obviously part of the global trend to electrify aircraft.” He was delighted to further expand France and China’s aviation alliance, and to see countries combine their strengths to invent greener solutions.
CAUC, Safran and ENAC have maintained close cooperation for a long time. Safran set up a reference room in CAUC library and donated many different types of aircraft engines for our university, filling in the gap in CAUC’s practical training. CAUC and the French GEA, including ENAC jointly set up the Sino-European Insititue of Aviation Enginering, which systematically introduced the French engineers educational model and won the award of “Excellent Sino-French Cooperative Program”.
