Engineer Education

Students who have passed preparatory education will enter the 3.5-year period of engineer education. In this stage, SIAE will run based on the French engineer education mode. We will spare no effort to ensure the quality in terms of classroom teaching, experimental teaching, engineering practice, etc. Besides, we attach importance to the students' aviation engineering knowledge structure and improve their ability for practice and innovation.We will also spare no effort to cultivate students' aspiration to explore the unknown, to create a better future, and courage and perseverance.

The training program of for the engineers is jointly determined by GEA Education Group, SIAE and French Universities and the Chinese and foreign cooperative enterprises. The program consists of specialized fundamental courses, specialized courses, internship in enterprise and practices, etc.Chinese and French professors, along with experts from Chinese and foreign aviation enterprises jointly undertake basic teaching, professional teaching, internship and practice, graduation thesis and other related works, so as to complete the whole process of elite engineer training.The courses are classified as follows:

1. For engineering science training: The courses are divided into two parts: the public key courses and professional key courses.

(1)Public key courses: refer to the basic aviation courses for all SIAE students before they are divided into various majors.

For professional key courses, three orientations are offered to the students: Aircraft Structure and Materials; Aero-propulsion System; Avionics and Air Traffic Control Systems. The education starts from the second semester of the second year of the Engineering Cycle.

2. To enhance the students' competence in engineering practice, students need to take in-class experiments and internship in enterprises.

1)课内实验In-class experiment

By relying on SIAE's comprehensive experimental platform (see The Introduction of Laboratory Construction), with the goal of improving students' engineering practice ability, we closely adhere to the theoretical curriculum training program and carry out high-level in-class experimental teachings.

(2) 企业实习Internship in enterprises

Internships include: Worker Internship, Technician Internship and Final Studies Internship (PFE). The are done in the first year, the second year, and the fourth year of the Engineering Cycle separately. In total, the students have to complete 8 months of internship in enterprises.

We have made certain achievements in school-enterprise cooperation. Our Executive Committee and the Advisory Council have provided support and guarantee for SIAE. With their help, a number of practice bases and innovation and entrepreneurship bases have been established for the students. "CAUC-AMECO Base for Joint Training of Postgraduates" was approved in August, 2014, and became the "National Demonstrative Practice Base for Joint Training of Full-time Masters of Engineering with Professional Degree". Only 28 institutions nationwide were approved in the first stage.
