SIAE Starts Engineer Cycle

    Sep 14th, 2011, Deputy Director Xia Xing Hua of CAAC, together with Secretary of State of National Ministry of Transport of France Mr Dominique BUSSEREAU declared the start of engineer cycle of SIAE, CAUC, and inaugurated the start-up ceremony for SIAE. This milestone witnessed the successful graduation of 82 students enrolled in 2007 which marks the only civil aviation engineering institution starts engineer cycle. For the class of students enrolled in 2007 will be named after “BUSSEREAU”.
    Deputy Director Xia Xing Hua said that France is advanced in civil aviation industry, and recently deepens its communication and cooperation. As China’s civil aviation moves forward, the industry urgently needs not only more advanced aircraft, but more professional talents in aircraft maintenance. CAAC attaches great importance to the development and construction of CAUC, and hopes SIAE can perform as a model institution of advanced talents in civil aviation industry, which in turn provides human resource and technology support for the whole industry.
    Mr Dominique BUSSEREAU, Secretary of State of National Ministry of Transport of France, pointed out that civil aviation is an industry full of prosperity, the students of SIAE will be the future elites of this industry as well as the witness of Sino-France cooperation. China and France are gaining momentum in aviation and aerospace cooperation. And he believed that the SIAE graduates will surely become the high quality professionals in civil aviation industry and one of the most important pillar for Sino-France cooperation.
    President Wu Tong Shui of CAUC expressed his warm welcome to all delegates related. He briefly reviewed the commitment and efforts of constructing SIAE in the past 3 years and extended his sincere gratitude to related government leaders from both China and France and supporting companies for their sponsoring and unremitting commitment.
    Other distinguished guests present at the ceremony were France Ambassador to China Mr Herv Ladsous, Deputy Director of Department of Personnel and Education of CAAC, three presidents oF GEA, leaders from Airbus, representatives of French aviation companies to China, SVP of Air China Mr He Li and other civil aviation representatives and leader from Tianjin Education Bureau.
    There were only 82 students qualified for engineer cycle, with a fallout rate of 20%.
