Director General of DGAC visited CAUC and granted Honorary Professor

    On the morning of Feb, 19th,2014, Mr Patrick GANDIL (Director General of DGAC) led a delegation to visit CAUC and accepted the Honorary Professor of CAUC. President Wu Tongshui, Party Secretary Jing Yihong as well as other related leader from CAAC were in accompany.
    Mr Patrick GANDIL visited SIAE, CAUC welcomed by SIAE students’ chorus (la nuit and voirsur ton chemin). Leaders from both sides conducted in-depth roundtable discussion in the meeting room of SIAE.
    During the discussion, President Wu Tongshui, on behalf of CAUC, expressed his warm welcome to the delegation led by Mr GANDIL and extended sincere gratitude for their continuous care and support and did a comprehensive introduction to CAUC. He hoped that both sides could further their cooperation in SIAE, and spare no effort to construct the two new majors “ATC New Technology” and “Airport Engineering and Management”.
    Mr GANDIL said that China has a long history and a splendid culture, and was very honored to cooperate with CAUC. SIAE is an extended project of the Specialized Master “Sino-French Aviation Safety Management”and has achieved outstanding establishment. He said the next step was to add two new majors and increase the total enrollment to 200. He also hoped that CAUC could set up a new Flight College whose students could be educated in France at the very beginning and sent back for further study in CAUC in the end. A systematic further education in ATC is of equal importance for civil aviation and cooperation in this regard should also be enhanced. He also emphasized the importance of setting up a major on “Airlines Operating Management”.
    After the meeting, Mr GANDIL accepted the Honorary Professor in the Report Hall of SIAE and President Wu Tongshui issued the certificate. Mr GANDIL delivered a wonderful speech to SIAE students and teachers. He attached great importance to civil aviation safety in his speech and proposes a lot of problems appearing recently and hoped students could find the solutions in the future. He spoke highly of SIAE and her commitment in fostering so many new engineers for civil aviation industry and hoped SIAE could harvest more and more new achievements.
    After the speech, President Wu Tongshui sent Mr GANDIL a Yangliuqing New Year Painting(The World’s Intangible Heritage) with a hundred playing children on it, implying Mr GANDIL will nurture many students in China.
    Then, leaders of CAUC accompanied Mr GANDIL to visit the advanced labs in SIAE.
