At the ceremony, Marc HOUALLA, the president of ENAC, and Dong Jiankang, President of Civil Aviation University of China, awarded the diplomas to the graduates jointly and helped them correct the tassel one by one.
Jean-Philippe DUFOUR congratulated the graduates on behalf of the French Civil Aviation Administration and the French Ambassadors to China. He said that since its establishment in 2007, SIAE has been a model of cooperation between universities and enterprises in higher education between China and France. The Chinese and French degrees awarded today are the best rewards for the hard work of the students. Now it is the time for the students to continue to creative further achievements.
Marc HOUALLA, the president of ENAC, said in his speech that some happy moments in life must be celebrated. A perfect example is graduation ceremony, where the students and parents as well as all faculty and staff of SIAE will be excited for their achievements. Students will change the world and create history, hoping that students can realize their ideal of life.
In her speech, Cora HUBERT, head for international air transport cooperation of Air Transport Division in Airbus Group, congratulated the students on behalf of Airbus Group, a sponsor of the SIAE. She said that today is a day worth celebrating and an important day in the lives of her classmates. He hoped that students will make great efforts in their work and display their talents.
In his speech, by relating his 28-year work experience, Mr. Ni Jiliang said that from a graduate to a skilled engineer, students should acquire not only knowledge, but also experience, not only education, but also dedication, not only wisdom, but also the skills, not only passion, but also determination for excellence. He hoped that the students could fully display their abilities on this stage in the field of Aeronautical engineering.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Cao Guoxing, former director of the International Department of the Ministry of Education, said he was honored and excited to attend the graduation ceremony. He briefly reviewed the development of SIAE, wished that the students to continue to innovate and advance with the joint efforts of China and France, and wished the students to make continuous progress in their future work, so that they can live up to the expectations of the school and teachers, and to be an outstanding engineer.
On behalf CAUC, President Dong Jiankang expressed his congratulations to the graduates for completing their studies and expressed his gratitude to the leaders and friends of the Chinese, French and business circles and the education sector who have made positive contributions to talent training of for SIAE. He said that students received multi-lingual and multi-domain education in CAUC. Besides their mother tongue, they could communicate with each other skillfully in the main languages of the global aviation industry, they could communicate across cultures between China, France and the world, they could also build bridges in the manufacturing and application fields. Moreover, they could handle the integration of aviation manufacturing industry and aviation transportation, playing the primary role in the industry. He hoped that students can start with the blessing of aspiration and high morale, endlessly fighting for honor and fight for responsibility. He also hoped that students remember and stay in touch with our alma mater.
Representatives of graduates, Chu YuLong and Wang Lingxiao respectively made speeches in two languages. They expressed deep respect for the leaders and teachers and thanked SIAE, where they had achieved the capability of science and technology, learning through practice to deepen the understanding of the aviation industry. In the future, they will live up to the spirits of CAUC and fulfill their dreams.
The parent of graduate Zhou Shu said: "I am deeply honored today to participate in my child's graduation ceremony, to see her achievements. I am very grateful to CAUC and the teachers for the training of my children.
SIAE is the only institution in China dedicated to the training of aeronautical engineers which was established in 2007 by CAUC and GEA. GEA consists of the top aerospace universities in France: ENAC, ISAE and ENSMA. The above three universities are dedicated to fostering excellent future-aviation engineers to European aerospace and aviation companies such as Airbus, Safran, and Thales Group. Its target to make full use of the advanced training mode of French engineers, to extensively absorb the excellent educational resources of China and France, and to explore a new way of training civil aviation engineering technology and management talents in practice, so as to cultivate high-level international talents for civil aviation of China.
Engineering education is the elite education in France and recognized by the world. At present, the 122 best engineering schools in France have formed 14 alliances according to subjects, and GEA is one of them. The schools cover all subjects of aeronautics and astronautics, forming a high-level education platform and teaching system for aeronautical engineers.
During the first cooperation period (2007-2013), SIAE set up three professional orientations:
Aircraft structure and materials, focusing on the research of aviation safety and maintenance; Propulsion system operation and maintenance, focusing on aircraft propulsion system design, operation and maintenance research; Avionic systems and airborne equipment, focusing on the design and operation of navigation and ground-to- air communications.
During the second cooperation period (2013-2018), SIAE created new orientations: (1) new technologies and applications of air traffic management; (2) airport engineering and management.
Nine years have passed since the establishment of SIAE, and during this period, the teachers and management teams of China and France cooperated with each other, making enormous outstanding achievements, which were fully recognized by Chinese and French political area, business area and educational area. Hence, it played an important role on Chinese engineering education and has been hailed as a model for successful cooperation. In 2011, the Institute was officially listed in the second batch of "Excellent Engineering Education and Training Program" of Ministry of Education. One expert of SIAE has won the Friendship Award of the National Government, and three experts of SIAE have won Haihe Friendship Award of Tianjin. In November of 2013, SIAE won the highest level certification by CTI, and thus becoming the first institution in the history to apply for the academic title of engineers and to obtain the highest level certification upon its first application. In 2014, SIAE was included in the cooperation framework for cultural exchange mechanism between China and France, and became a core member of the Sino-France Engineering Schools under the Ministry of Education. In May 2016, SIAE Work Conference was held to discuss future development.
