 A Lecture on Aviation Fasteners ( Detail is the Key to Success)

 Director of Research Institute of CASIC, Mr Yin Xiaojian was invited to visit SIAE, CAUC and give a lecture on the topic of” Aviation Fasteners”. Mr Yin made a wonderful interpretation on aviation fasteners including fastener classification, manufacturing, processing and application, He also analyzed the problems existing in the current domestic aviation fastener production and commented on the future development.

 With rich experience accumulated in aerospace fastener design, R&D and manufacturing, Mr. Yin analyzed a number of cases of the plane crash caused by fastener failure. Although small in size, aerospace fasteners come in a large number and a variety of classes, connecting structures and systems. At present, domestic fastener production still lags behind foreign countries. Mr. Yin also analyzed the manufacturing methods and material properties, and pointed out the firm connection between fasteners and the development of aerospace industry.

 This lecture provided SIAE students a chance to have face-to-face interactions with corporate experts and make clear their future development. Li Zongmin, a postgraduate student enrolled in 2018 said: I have benefited a lot from listening to Yin’s lecture. Mr. Yin, based on his rich professional experience, has summarized the development of the fastener industry. A small screw can even determine the success or failure of aviation industry. This fact motivates me to pay attention to details in my future studies and inspires me to be a well-disciplined member of Civil Aviation.
