 Speech Given by Freshman Student Yue Zenghui at SIAE’s School Opening Ceremony for Students Enrolled in 2018

Respected leaders, teachers and dear students,

Good morning, everyone!

 My name is Yue Zenghui, I am a new member of SIAE family. Today I’m so honored to give a speech on behalf of 2018 promotion at the school opening ceremony.

 In this beautiful autumn season, a time for harvest, we are enrolled in CAUC and choose to devote to the civil aviation. Here we begin the  dream of flying in the blue sky. September is also a planting season, when we start to envision the time of our graduation full of honor and knowledge.

 The time we came to CAUC marked the beginning of a new life journey. We have been longing for college so bad! However, we must keep three points in mind, which is significant for all of us. To begin with,  learn to take care of ourselves meticulously. Secondly, learn to manage  time reasonably. Last but not least, form a habit of autonomous learning. Therefore, stepping into college doesn’t mark the ending of our efforts, on the contrary, it marks the beginning of hard work. SIAE,CAUC is the place where our dreams start.

 When we just arrived at CAUC, some senior students who are enthusiastic and mature helped calm us down in this new environment. Besides, they also helped us with school registration. Therefore, we  integrated into CAUC family easily in a short time. Meanwhile, meeting with our erudite and patient teachers allows us to envision the possibilities of our future. No matter what happened in the past, we are standing on the same starting line again. We believe that the future is on our hands and we can decide how to live our own lives on campus. We dare to try our best in this big family. We dare to look up at the stars with our feet on the solid ground. At the same time, we also dare to overcome all the difficulties in the pursuit of excellence. With a history of more than 60 years, CAUC will be different with our arrival. It is our commitment to make difference.

Everyone has his own unique side, as an old saying goes, “There are no two identical leaves in the world.” Meanwhile, a colorful family consists of our diverse personalities. Therefore, in order to build a united family, there are three points we should keep in mind. Firstly, it is essential for us to respect others. “He who does not respect others will not be respected.” Schiller once said. In addition, “Every man is responsible for the rise and fall of the world.” Everyone in this family should have take your own responsibility respectively and have a sense of group honor. Last but not least, “When I walk along with two others, they may serve me as my teachers. I will select their good qualities and follow them, their bad qualities and avoid them.” We should learn from others, therefore, we can improve ourselves continuously and make greater progress.

 A new campus marks a new start. This is only the beginning of campus life. We have got a handful of time to explore, think, and strive. We should not let our parents and teachers down. Therefore, we should work hard and overcome all kinds of difficulties in our lives. It is so wonderful for us to ride on the horse of dream, galloping on the land of knowledge and describing a new chapter of our own.

 We will graduate in about 2025, when we will be most energetic and striving. Simultaneously, it will be a significant year for our country to achieve two centenary goals and a year of prosperity. At that time, we will become the mainstay of the civil aviation industry. Therefore, from now on, all of us need to work hard and seize the opportunity so as to  make our own contribution to the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation in the future. Sun Yat-sen once said, “It is our duty to carry out the reform and development of China.” In brief, we will become an important generation to achieve this goal with greater responsibilities and missions on our shoulders. Just as Mr. Zhang zai once said, “to set our heart for the world, to make our lives better for the people, to carry on the noble tradition of learning, and to open a peaceful world”, we will be strict with ourselves, keep the motto of CAUC in mind and present a better myself on the stage of SIAE. We will take our sincere heart to explore every insurmountable barrier in the future and to shape our prime youth time without regret..
