To implement the university's "1232" ideological and political education system and strengthen students' value cultivation. On October 12, Vice President Xinsheng Yang, as the second-class mentor, delivered an ideological and political course to the first-year undergraduate students of SIAE with the theme "General Yu Su."

Focusing on General Yu Su's life and achievements, Vice- President Yang narrated the extraordinary story of how an ordinary farmer's son grew to become one of the founding generals of the People's Republic of China. He explored four aspects: "The Ordinary Creates the Extraordinary," "Exceptional Courage Demonstrates Responsibility," "Outstanding Military Achievements Earn Respect," and "Noble Character Immortalized in History." The lecture emphasized General Su Yu's wisdom and courage in military command, his ability to make strategic decisions in complex situations, and his qualities of loyalty, humility, and diligence.

Vice President Yang highlighted that General Su Yu's story is not just a reflection on past history but also an inspiration for future development. He encouraged the students to take General Su Yu as a role model, improve their ideological and political awareness, cultivate patriotism, and enhance their comprehensive abilities to contribute to the development of China's civil aviation industry.

The students expressed that the lecture deepened their understanding of China's revolutionary history and further ignited their passion and determination to contribute to the development of civil aviation in the new era.

Freshman Yuze Jiao from the Class of 2024 remarked, "Today’s lecture by Professor Yang deeply moved me. General Su Yu’s story made me realize that no matter the era, ideals and beliefs are what propel us forward. Professor Yang mentioned how General Su Yu upheld revolutionary faith under arduous conditions—this spirit is worth learning for every one of us. As a student in the civil aviation major, we must emulate General Su Yu: face difficulties without retreat and rise to challenges. The road ahead may be full of uncertainties, but as long as we remain steadfast in our beliefs, we can overcome all obstacles. I will remember today's lesson and strive to embody this spirit through my actions to become an outstanding aviation professional."
